Rebellious Truth

Fleur gently pressed a cold rag on his forehead, and nodded. "We need to hurry. Maybe we shouldn't stop as much." she suggested. She had been forgetting to put on her emotionless mask when she was speaking about Kevin. It was times like these she wished that she had the water element instead of ice, it would have been convenient.

Once the tea was cooled, Copper poured it into a cup and downed the contents. It was a medicine he had to take because of infections cause by the metal inside him. He had to replace sections and even an entire bone, the whole process is always very painful. Copper made a sour face, the herbs always tasted like dirty socks....

Fleur sighed, making a small sphere of ice and wrapping it in the rag and continued trying to keep his head as cool as she could. She wished she could help more, she really did. When she saw Copper's face as he drank the tea she flashed him a confused look. "I'm guessing i don't want a drink of that tea?"

"No, its just I hate medicine." He said before downing the rest, "I have to have this once in a while so that I don't have to remove some of the metal that is inside me." He washed out both the cup and the pot before changing them back into metal balls, slipping them into a different pouch.

"I see." she muttered. She was beginning to feel rather groady, like she was in need of a bath. She sighed and continued trying to cool the boy. She carefully put a thin layer of ice on the back of his neck. "You're going to be okay." she said quietly as she watched the boy.

"If you are tired or whatever, I can watch Kev for a bit." Copper said, sitting cross-legged near the fire with an elbow resting on a knee and his cheek on his fist.

"........Alright. I'll be back." she said setting the ice sphere down and standing up. She turned and left where they were staying. Once she got out side she stared at the body of water that the waterfall led into. She carefully untied her obi, letting her kimono loose. She folded it and set it on the rock before she slid her kimono off of her shoulders and folded it, setting it on the ground with the obi. Now in just a plain short white dress she carefully slid into the lake.

Copper sat near Kevin and watched Fleur. He wasn't doing it to be a perv...ok maybe a little, but he was making sure nothing attacked them while they were camping.

Fleur dunked herself so she could wash her hair. After a while of washing herself she pulled herself out of the water, her white dress clung to her skin so she sat down on the rocks to let herself dry. She sighed and stared up at the moon.

Kevin made a groaning sound and Copper shot up, looking into those big gray eyes, "C-Copper?" said the boy weakly. "Kevin!" Copper turned Kevin's head to look at him, "Kev, what attacked you in the forest?"
"The...forest?" Kevin said confused, he felt so warm. "Yes, the forest. Remember? We went to look for Akuma?"

Fleur had just walked back into the cave with her Kimono in hand when Kevin woke up. He eyes widened and she hurried to his side but didn't say anything as she listened to him and Copper speak. She hoped that he wasn't feeling to bad.

Kevin looked confused, "Where...am I?" He asked. "You are in a cave behind a waterfall. Kev, please, we need to know what attacked you. You are very sick and we need to get you to feel better but we can't do that unless we know what happened." Kevin rolled his head from side to side, "I...don't know...it attcked me...from behind...." He mumbled, getting tired again. "Did it hit you? Or used any powers?" But the boy had fallen back asleep. Copper growled as he made a fist, "I swear, when I find out who did this...."

Fleur frowned when the boy fell back asleep. "We need to head out again, we don't have time to waste here." she said as she stood and began putting her kimono back on. She noticed how made Copper looked "It won't help him if you get angry." she told as she tied her obi.

Copper didn't say anything as he covered Kevin with a blanket and lifted the metal again. Copper made a cover so that Kevin would stay dry as they walked through the forest, "It will take about 3 more days to reach the edge and then two to get to Melanda." He said, a dead serious look on his face.

"Then we better get going." she said. It was weird to see him with such a stern look but she understood. They needed to hurry, no more breaks for a while. Kevin was depending on them.

They were going on their third day, just one day left until they reached the edge of the forest. A couple of times, they ran into creatures but managed to either kill them or escape. Every time, Copper would put Kevin in a sort of metal cocoon. It always kept him safe but Copper felt his own levels dropping, he needed rest but Kevin was more important at the moment. Sweat beaded off his skin from not only the heat of the hot sun, but from being so drained, "We are almost there..." he said, pressing on.

Fleur noticed how he was sweating and pressed her hand against the back of his neck and placed a thin layer of ice over it. "That should keep you cool." she told, moving her hand away from his neck as she continued walking.

Copper looked at Fleur for a moment before turning his attention back, "Thanks...how much food do we have left?" He asked, he hadn't expected the trip to take so long and hoped they had enough food to last until they reached Melanda.

"No problem." she muttered before she looked in the satchel and noticed how little food they had. "Not much. We're going to have to ration off so we don't eat it all before we get there." she told before closing the satchel.

Copper nodded and sighed, he was dead tired and felt the metal in his body aching. He wondered if they would have it in time. Kevin had only been getting worse, he was having trouble breathing and became a sickly white. "Hang in there, Kev. We are almost there." He knew the sight was hurting Fleur a lot, he would catch her gazing sadly at Kevin and at the same time, she looked like that once she found out who had done this to him, she was going to kill that person very slowly and painfully.

"We should be there soon." she said walking a little faster in anticipation. she wanted to get there as soon as possible, she was dead tired but she cared more about getting Kevin safely to a healer. "Let's hurry."

Copper nodded, "We are still just two days away, we could get there faster if either of us could transport but metal can't transport." he said, having to wipe sweat off his brow. He was using what little energy he had left to make the table Kevin was on float, he would of had to use more if it wasn't for the gloves he was wearing.

"What about ice? Or darkness?" she questioned, hopeful that it would. If she could she would transport them, she hoped that she did have that ability.

"Ice can't but darkness can. You know how to?" Copper asked since he didn't know how the whole thing worked. He couldn't transport so he never bothered to know how. Kevin coughed dry coughs, looking in much discomfort.

"Nope, but i'm about to figure out how." she muttered the last bit. she was going to try something simple first, just transport a few feet in front of them that's all she had to do. The demon closed her eyes and began concentrating on that spot with her darkness flowing through her veins.
