Rebellious Truth

It wasn't as strong as Jack's but the feeling was close to the same, "You got it!" Copper said excited as they transported to the front gates of Melanda. "Oy! Who goes there?" called a gate keeper.

Fleur felt weak after using so much energy. She went to answer the gate keeper but it was taking everything she had just to stay standing at this point. She looked over at Copper, giving him a look that told him to tell.

"We are here on the order of Rowan." He said, "We need to see the Queen."
"The Queen is missing but you can see the Prince instead. What is wrong with that child?"
"The whole reason why we came." Copper didn't know what was wrong with the boy but knew that the answer was good enough when the gates opened. He went to Fleur and put an arm around her shoulder, "You are going to fall over soon as am I, we can lean on each other a bit as we get to the castle."

Fleur nodded, if the situation had been different then she would have punched him but she for once agreed with him. She carefully put her arm around him. "We made it." she said softly with a smile, she would have been more excited if she had the energy to be.

It took them a while but they finally made it to the castle. They were escourted to the throne room where Prince Shima was, he frowned with concern, "What has happened to you three?" Copper was on the verge of passing out, "We...need help...."

Fleur felt her conciousness slipping away, but she forced herself to stay standing. "Him most." she said softly, moving her eyes over to Kevin then back up to the prince.

"Take these people to the infirmary, now!" he ordered and as soon as he did, Copper collapsed and passed out. Luckily the guards had grabbed hold of Kevin's makeshift bed so it didn't crash to the ground.

The next thing he remembered was waking up but wasn't able to move. He had just walked three days straight without much food or sleep. He looked to his left to see Kevin, not as pale as before but still very ill. Fleur was to Kevin's left but couldn't see if she was awake or asleep.

Fleur tried to keep Copper up, but his weight dragged her down as well and that was the last thing she remembered.

Fleur's eyes snapped open and she looked around from where she lay. She assumed that she was in an infirmary, she still felt weak and didn't want to sit up, but she forced herself to. To her right she saw Kevin.....and he was alright. she let out a breath of relief. She looked a little farther and saw Copper staring over. "Well don't you look lovely Star man." she said sarcastically, trying to lighten the mood a bit.

Copper looked from Kevin to Fleur before smiling, "We did it, we got him here." He said, sounding tired. He closed his eyes, the bed felt so nice, "Fleur, I was worried about him you know, he doesn't have much people left who love him and...." He didn't finish but opened his eyes to look at Kevin before chuckling, "That kid...there is something about him that you just love...."

Fleur smiled softly and nodded, "I know what you mean star man." she said as she smiled down at Kevin. It was silent for a while before her stomach growled loudly. Fleur's face flushed with embarrassment.

Copper couldn't help but to laugh aloud, "Hungry? Me too but I can't move." He said, "The metal in my body isn't conducting my movement at the moment so I am stuck here until they do."

Fleur cast him a glare. "I'll go get some." she said as she slipped her legs off the side of the bed. she placed her feet on the ground but and forced herself up. she made it a few steps before falling flat on her face. "or maybe i won't......"

Copper stared at her, the hing on the table next to her melted and crawled to her. It went under her hands and pushed her up, "If I blink, you fall." He said, it was very hard to control elements with only ones eyes.

"I've got this, no need to waste your energy." she said stubbornly as she attempted to get herself up. She felt weak and she hated when people had to help her like this. "just go back to sleep and i'll be back before you know it." she ordered as she lifted her hands up to grab the edge of her bed.

As much as Copper didn't want to, he couldn't keep his eyes open and soon fell asleep. The metal he had controlled turned to liquid and puddled to the ground. Once metal has been controlled, it doesn't revert back to its original shape.

"Okay come on Fleur, you got this." she muttered, forcing herself up fully, she kept her hands on the bed and when she got to the edge she forced herself to bolt to the wall. Instead of keeping up, she fell into the wall. "curses." she muttered, rubbing her nose before turning towards the door, keeping her hands on the wall as she walked.

Inside the infirmary, a window slowly opened and a shadowy figure stepped inside. He quietly watched Fleur leave until she was out completely before quietly closing the door and locking it. It went over to Copper and looked at him for a moment before making the metal under his bed shoot up and wrap around his throat. Copper woke up in an instant but the metal was chocking him. He looked at the shadow figure who looked at him a moment longer before turning its attention to Kevin. It moved to the other side of Kevin's bed before mumbling something Copper couldn't hear but whatever it was, Kevin started to whimper and move about. Copper growled as he tried to move but still couldn't. Kevin suddenly gasped and cried out loud in sheer pain, tears streaming down the boys eyes. "Leave...him..alone..." chocked Copper. He had to do something or....that was when he saw the knife in its hands. Copper's eyes widen, struggling to move and breath. "Kevin!" Suddenly the knife went down and dove into Kevin's chest, dead center, Kevin gasped but no sound came. "KEVIN!" Copper growled as everything made of metal began to move and quiver, "Bastard!" he shouted and the metal around his neck snapped, the shadow figure obviously didn't know that Copper was a Metal Guardian.

No, THEE Metal Guardian....

Copper was only able to move his left hand but that was all he needed to capture the shadow figure and squeeze the binds.

Fleur hadn't gotten far down the hallway before she heard the shout from Copper. The demon turned and rushed back as much as she could. when she got in there she saw binds holding on to a shadow figure. Then she saw the knife. "Oh moons no." she whispered in horror, forcing herself to stay up, she ran over to Kevin. "Kevin, oh moons. No please no." she whispered, her voice panicked.

Copper growled more as he made the binds tighter but the shadow figure was still mumbling those words, "SHUT UP!" The binds cut through, making blood splatter about. Where the man was was now just a large floating metal ball and Copper had his hand punched out, gripped in a tight fist, "Get some help, now!" He ordered Fleur in a way that was unusual for him, the look in his eyes gave the impression that if she didn't listen, he would kill her.

She didn't even notice the look he was giving her but she nodded and turned on her heel and ran/stumbled out of the room. "Somebody! there's been an attack! ANYONE HURRY!" she shouted as she ran looking for anyone that would be able to help the child.

A couple of guards and healers came running, the healers took Kevin away. "Kevin!" Copper said as he tried to sit up or move but couldn't, "Don't take him away!"

Fleur had followed them back into the room. "Oi, where are you taking him?" she questioned, grabbing one of the healers arms. She wasn't just going to let someone take him after what had just happened.

"That's right, either of you know. Sorry." Said the healer Fleur grabbed while the rest carried Kevin away. "It is a blood ritual made by killing a young dragon as an offering to Elderon but it wreaks havoc on the body. We need to remove the curse on him but we can't do it here, we have to do it at the runes."

"No.......why would....no." she couldn't even think straight. why would anyone want to do that, why would someone want to kill him.

"Don't worry, this might not happens often but we know how to cure him. Just get some rest alright?" The healer said in a gentle but rushed tone before hurrying off to where Kevin was taken.
