The Celebration of a New Circle

Suddenly, the music softened, almost to a cry. Jack flopped beside Arlitha but looked out into the starry night skies.

"Oh but when we all part for the night time,
Will this be our last time to say,
Good bye my dear friend, my family, my lover too,
Because the night has to end soon too.

So then give me a fiddle and a melody to sing,
I will give you my heart from the notes that ring,
So that when it is pouring or thundering through,
You can sing our little song and dance to it too...."

The crowd cheered Jack who flopped his head on the wall behind him and sighed but grinned, "I love that song...." He said, with his eyes shut to the world.

Lavi laughed a loud, "Oh you know me, I kid." He said, raising his hands up in defence, "I haven't seen you in a long time. How have you been?"

"you did great" Arlitha signed with a small smile after the man had finished. "you've obviously been playing a while."

The woman shrugged with a small smirk. "I've been good, sick to death of the lovey dovey atmosphere." she said gesturing to Mikasa and Nick. "What about you?"

"Let's.....not do that again." Fleur said as she stared up at Copper, still embarrassed at her skills or lack of.

Jack smiled softly at Arlitha, "My mother taught me how to play the piano, I learned the rest from my sister growing up." He said in a gentle tone, looking at her eyes, "I think it was tradition that music was taught to the off spring in her family...I...didn't really know her all too well though...."

"I can see that." He said happily before walking her outside to the balcony as a couple was coming back in, "I've been worried lately...." he looked at the stars, "Lasser...he has been very active lately."

"Oh you did great, no need to be harsh on yourself." Copper said with a reassuring grin on his face before stuffing his hands in his pockets, "You just need to practice if you are so worried."

Arlitha gave him a small smile. "I'm sure she would be proud of you." was all she signed before looking away. "You're very good at what you do after all."

Fox frowned. "Oh? What have you heard?" she questioned as she followed him. She had to admit she was more than a bit concerned about the situation.

Fleur pouted and shook her head. "No way, no more dancing for me." she told plainly. "You guys can dance all you want, but it is obviously not for me."

Lavi looked serious suddenly, "Lasser has been moving bases over to Silverwood and...and has been taking children...." He almostseemed in pain for saying that last part, "The Council doesn't want this to be told to anyone because they want to look into it but....you Guardians are fighting that creep...it isn't fair...." Lavi smacked the rail, "We have tried to catch one of his failed experiments but...they have been brain washed and...." He didn't want to finish the sentence but hoped Fox understood what he was getting at, "So much blood for such a small body...."

Fox stared at the ground, clenching her fists as she listened to him. "shit...." she muttered. She hated that they couldn't do more about Lasser. It killed her to hear that children were being taken. ".....I've got to tell Nick. This needs to get to the head." she told, obviously determined.

"Wait!" Lavi said, grabbing hold of Fox's hand and looking dead in the eyes, "There is more, this is very important too and something the Council is unaware of." He said, "Someone is leaking information from both the Fort and the Council to Lasser himself...in other words, we have spys working with us. We need to find out who they are before someone gets killed...."

Fox stared him dead in the eyes, her blood ran cold. "Shit.....this is.....oh shit." she muttered, running a hand through her short blonde hair. "Thank you for telling me.....you could get in serious trouble for this."

"I know, but I am not letting die. I have to do something or I am no better than him." Lavi said sadly, looking down as he clenched his fist, "Fox, I am worried of Lasser winning this time...I mean...the Council has been a mess since we first caught one of the failed experiments...people can't handle that sort of stuff...."

Fox nodded solonmly, she knew how grave the situation was getting. She lifted a hand a pressed it gently against his cheek, trying to give him a reassuring smile. "It's....going to be alright. We're going to stop him and......and....." she couldn't finish her sentence, she just stayed silent as she tried to think of something to reassure him with.

He was surprised when Fox touched his cheek, ike a mother would for her child, yet this was more as a friend. A very good friend. So much risk and so much danger was about to happen if the Guardians found out about this and if the Council discovered if he leaked out information....but Fox....he knew Fox wouldn't leave him to hang (probably literally). He stared at her a bit shocked before smiling back softly, there wasn't  no need for her to continue, "Thank you, Fox."

"I sense something dark coming....." Richard said in a very disgruntled way, causing Baina to raise a brow in question, almost in amusement, "And I don't like it."
"Well no duh, Richard, of course you wouldn't lik it." She said softly before taking a bite of her fifth piece of cheese of the evening. He glared at her a little but not much, "I mean it, its-"
"Hey guys!" He was interrupped by Jack happily walking over, Baina choaked a bit before laughing, "Well looks like you were right on your intuision! Ha ha ha!"

Fox smiled back, she was relieved that she had helped him...even if it was just a little bit. She knew how much danger he could get in for telling her this and it worried her. She knew that he was walking on a thin line with this, but she would do her best to help him. "That's what i'm here for, reassuring people and kicking ass." she told with a small smirk, trying to lighten the mood a little.

Lavi chuckled before grabbing hold of Fox's hand and walking back inside, acting as calm as ever, "But...this should really wait until the end. I would hate to ruin Alice and Alex's time, they worked so hard to put this together....."

Fox nodded, she was used to staying calm in crazy situations. "Yeah, and they seem so happy too." she pointed out. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Just gotta get through this party and then no more dress for me." she muttered, trying to take her mind off of what Lavi had told her.

"Oh I wouldn't be too sure about that, what about when someone invites you to a wedding or...." Lavi sudden had a look of mock terror, "Your own wedding!" A soft chuckle followed afterwards, "Ah, such a man who takes a shine to you...well excluding me, mind you. I am too devilishly handsome, witty, and charming to refuse~"

Fox rolled her eyes. "Have you met me? I'm not exactly the "married" type. Besides when do i have the time to settle down in my line of work?" she questioned, ignoring his 'modesty' "And if i'm invited to a wedding then i'll just....wear a suit. yeah that's it." she joked.

"Oh, so you would be the best man?" Lavi asked in an almost innocent way...almost....Nevertheless, he chuckled and laughed, "Honestly, I don't think you can make anything look bad." He wasn't kidding either. Fox had the body of choice. Strong yet delightfully curvy.

Fox laughed, rolling her eyes. "You've obviously taken one to many hits to the head if you really think that." she told with a chuckle.

Lavi merely waved his hand, "Hey, I know what I like and what I see." It was kinda ironic coming from the man who wore an eye patch....speaking of which, a certain blonde haired Captain was striding up to the two...happy?...couple, smiling with a bottle of rum in hand, "Ah! Its good to see you two are having a good time!...and no, I am not drunk...yet...I just got my hands on this." He lifted the bottle to indicate it, "Anywho, I was wondering if ummm...you knew where Mika-chan was....?"

Fox was about to retort when Nick walked over. She noticed the rum and glared at it as he spoke. "Well if you had been with her instead of going and getting rum then she wouldn't be somewhere else now would she? Maybe she got whisked away by a strangely attractive suitor while you were distracted by your rum." the woman said crossing her arms over her chest as she gave him a stern look.

Nick scoffed, "Eh, such a mother. And for your information, I was looking for her when I grabbed the bottle. Just a quick pick from the table, nothing long or anything but I can't seem to find her...." His eyes suddenly narrowed, "And if some prick did whisker her away, I will hunt them down and make sure they can't reproducing their idiot off spring." Lavi leaned a little closer to Fox and said, "Remind me to never piss him off."

"Well a second is all a girl needs to be whisked away." Fox pointed out.

"Who was whisked away?" Mikasa questioned with innocent eyes as she walked up, just catching the end of the conversation. She had been having a nice talk with the couple from the moon realm.

"Eggs..." Lavi said with an innocent grin before anyone else could say anything. Nick gave Lavi a look that was a mix between confusion and being disturbed. He cleared his throat before looking back to Mikasa, "I was looking for you, actually, wondering if you wanted to see the night flowers bloom. They are in the gardens and I have Alice's permission to enter there."

Fox jabbed Lavi with her elbow, her way of saying shut up.

Mikasa smiled at the offered and nodded with a small pink on her cheeks. "I would love to." she replied.

Nick smiled and bowed a little, "Well then may I escort you to the gardens, ma'lady?" Nick was always the one to be the gentlemen to the ladies. Professional and an old fashion guy, he was always the kind of guy who did something nice and wondered why the ladies blushed afterwards.
